Happy new year of teaching fellow teachers!!! I am in my fifth year of first grade and still loving every minute of it!!! Previously I spent 18 years in Kinder and 1 year in 2nd grade. I can't help it, I have got the 'little people fever'! 

I love reading through all these outstanding blogs. There are so many amazing ideas on how to enrich the lives of my Smarties so I tend to blog creep quite a bit. Thanks everyone for all of the amazing ideas.

We started the year on August 6th and I am astounded at what our students have picked up thus far (RTI routine, Daily 5 routine, using the SMARTBOARD, and all of our super cool attention getters). I know this is going to be an amazing school year.

Good morning fellow Kdg and First grade teachers! I am excited to join the blogging world, yet a little hesitant because I am new to this. A little bit about me: This is my 22nd year of teaching, with four in 1st grade, 1 in 2nd, and all the rest in Kdg. I have a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Masters in Early Reading and Literacy, and a newly completed ELL endorsement.
  I currently teach in a first grade community with a fantastic team mate, Jodi. We have 50 Firsties, and we love them so!!! I am always on the lookout for new and funtastic learning activities for our students.
